wolfpaw stifled a yawn. it was dusk and she had taken it upon herself to leave camp for some adventure. sure, she probably should have asked first, but rapidstar loved her so there was no doubt that she wouldn't get punished. or at least that was what she was going to tell herself. she hadn't gone out of camp for a while. the wind was getting chillier, the apprentice fluffed her fur up in defense. it didn't help much. she had never seen the snow before, but her mother had told her about it as a kitten, how it snowed every winter covering the ground in frozen water. and it was white. it was such a strange concept, she couldn't wait. Dove wasn't one for following rules. In particular, she wasn't one for following rules set by cats that annoyed her. Mainly Rapidstar, and mainly concerning "never setting foot on the territory again" or something of the sort. But, as she promised herself, she was only going to visit and look from afar at how the clan was coming along without her. The word of loners and other rogues wasn't trustworthy enough in her opinion. She was comfortably stuffed after a visit to the abandoned barn, and kept mostly warm by her long thick fur as she trotted towards the ShadowClan border. It wasn't hard to find the territory, even in this cold and stormy weather; ShadowClan land always held the faint scent of something rotting. As she finally reached the border, the she-cat stopped abruptly. "What filthy weather," she hissed, examining each of her paws carefully. They were all damp from running through the dewy grass, and the paw pads were growing colder by the second. What horrible conditions for a beauty such as herself! She simply had to get her paws off the ground. Having spotted a moss-covered log a small distance away, Dove gingerly picked her way across the grass and leapt on top of it, delicately adjusting herself and wrapping her tail around her chilled paws. She didn't much care that she was in plain sight-- it was growing darker and the camps were probably winding down by now. If any cat was alert enough to notice her, it was all the better for Dove. More drama is more entertainment, and such and such.

wolfpaw usually liked following rules. they were there for a reason and without them, the clan wouldn't function. it simply wouldn't do if she just disregarded them entirely. no, the occasional rebellion could be considered harmless, but livings a selfish lifestyle like that all the time, it wasn't right. wolfpaw wanted to be good and that meant following the rules.
her sister's exile had certainly been hard, however. rapidstar had removed dovepaw, now dove she supposed, from the clan and wolfpaw hadn't seen her since. did she miss her? a little, but she had been young and wasn't even sure how close she and her sister had been. it was a predicament upon her heart, however. she had a smudge on her bloodline. sometimes she worried about what others thought of her because of her sister's careless actions.
and then she saw her. dove was just in the territory? "dovepaw! you can't be here, what are you doing?"

Oh how wonderful. An obnoxious interuption, just as she had expected. Wolfpaw was just as annoying as she remembered her to be. Dove fixed her eyes on the dark molly as the emerged from the dark and sat up a bit taller. “I can be wherever I want to be,” she huffed with her nose in the air. “And it’s just Dove now, you insufferable lint ball.” Oo, that was a good one. Something she had picked up from the kittypets. They were stupid things at times, but dang if they didn’t have good insults. “And who are you to say where I should be? Aren’t kits not allowed out of camp?”
