Honeyglow was always happy when Newleaf graced the clans with its gentle rolling greenery. It had been a moon or so since the snow and frost had melted away, replaced with fresh blooms and sunny warmth. WindClan had been eager for the weather to change and young hares to leave their dens, easy pickings for their warriors to bring back. It wouldn't be long before most of the blooms began to fade and the grass grew greener in swelting Greenleaf heat. But, for now, the warm-colored molly could relax just beyond WindClan's territory amongst the much cooler grasses near Fourtrees.
She knew the hobby was a dangerous one, possibly leading to her receiving punishment despite Fourtrees being neutral, peaceful grounds for all the clans. Sure, the treaty was only held during Gatherings, but most tended not to tread on the grounds around the grand oaks. So, the relatively young warrior liked to bask on the short grasses between the Gathering place and WindClan, her pale red pelt standing out starkly against the lush, green grasses of the land she laid upon.
Much of the time, the lazy warrior either contemplated her life or napped. For today, it was an odd combination of the two. Honeyglow was at a peaceful bridge between coherent thought and a light nap, her eyes hooded as she thought about her sister. Sandypelt was doing well as medicine cat apprentice, doing well under her mentor, Haretuft. The androgynous medicine cat was a good one, but their life was long and destined to fade like the brown fur around the muzzle as it shifted to mottled white and gray. Soon, their life would pass or they would retire, leaving her sister sole medicine cat.
Honeyglow had no doubts in her "little sister's" capabilities. She knew of the molly's occasional uncertainties, always re-assuring them with a positive smile on her lips. It had been moons since their parents' death, moons since Honeyglow had stepped up and matured so that her sister wouldn't have to. They'd both grown and changed, shifting like the seasons as they matured. Soon, something was bound to happen that would shift their relationship, but Honeyglow didn't know when or what it was.
