Mistpaw crouched lowly in the dewy grass. She wasn’t far from the entrance of camp, however she hadn’t asked to leave either. Looking back at the tunnel, she wondered how much trouble she’d get in. Icestar had never told her explicitly that she had to ask to leave, at least not that she could remember, so this mini potential rebellion sent a thrill through her chest.
At the moment, she needed to be alone. She needed to be alone more than anything, especially with Condorwing hanging around camp with a wet cloud. Why he felt the need to hang around, she wasn’t sure. She really wasn't. She didn’t want him around and she was pretty sure nobody else did. So what if he was her father? He had betrayed the Clan before her birth, hadn’t he? What Icestar had been thinking… she had no idea.
Maybe she should be productive instead of sitting in the wet grass, feeling the droplets seep into her belly fur. Gritting her teeth, she darted back into camp, now hoping to avoid a scolding. "Would any of you be willing to accompany me to gather herbs?” she called out.

Beewing let out a small hum, he had once again been ordering his herbs - one could never be quite sure where they were or how much they had - but , for a change, he had just curled up to try and sleep when he heard his apprentice call out. Ah, good. Getting on top of things He smiled, closing his eyes and burying his muzzle in his tail.
Mistpaw was one of the cat's Beewing was proud to call his friend. She was a hard worker, just as himself, and seemed just as proud to serve her clan. Though her lineage was strongly River Clan, Beewing couldn't help but find some distaste for her father - which was rich coming from him, as he didn't know his own lineage. Or, well, he knew their names. Not his, like, clan lineage. Which, actually, as Beewing thought as he began to stink into his tail, was odd. How did he end up in River Clan? He hadn't questioned it before now - or maybe he did and didn't remember? Knowing the tom, it wasn't hard to put past him. Sometimes, especially when he was sorting the herbs, - Beewing let out a yawn - he would forget walls were a thing and bump into them. It was strange, really, but he guessed it would be normal if other cats tried to balance - oh! Beewing's eyes shot open. Oh he'd forgotten about Borage leaves! They had run out and you would never know when someone was going to get sick!
Climbing to his legs, Beewing shock the sleep from his mind, padding uncertainly into the sunlight to meet his apprentice. We need Borage Leaves He informed her, blinking slowly before smiling. Good morning! He flicked an ear, something about her smelled off, but as a medicine cat, Beewing saw no reason to mention it. Even if she had left camp, he wouldn't be to worried. Mistpaw was half Icestar after all. He trusted the tabby to take care of herself, it's not like she was him!

"good morning, beewing," mistpaw meowed calmly. the silver chinchilla dipped her head towards her mentor. she respected him, as mildly odd as he was. he was a fascinating tom and she enjoyed working with him.
"Ah, are we? i will make sure to gather some." borage.... she could certainly remember that. "shall you be joining me and any others who decide to go?"
she briefly wondered if he had seen her outside of camp, surely he wouldn't tell icestar if he had. she wasn't even quite certain that icestar would be upset, but she didn't want to risk it.

Beewing nodded, enthusiastic. He hadn't really been outside of the camp in a while, now that he thought about it, which was weird, as there wasn't anything really keeping him anchored there. Well, since you asked so kindly, yes he mewed, a joke curling off his words. He noticed the flicker in her eyes, fear perhaps? Should he blurt something out and give her a cover in case anyone else realized her whereabouts? Yes he probabl- OH wait! what if she had gone out not for prey or herbs, but for a cat? Excitement fluffed the tom's pelt. ah mist! all grown up and disobeying the warrior code! How cute! And ,uh, thanks for picking up those herbs for me this morning. he mewed, his voice -purposefully for once- carrying. I'm sure your mother would be proud of you He winked at his apprentice, patting himself on the back. Yes Mistpaw! I will provide you with any sort of cover story for your romance! I hope you two are happy together!

Nightshade pulled herself from the river, shaking her glossy pelt free of the largest water droplets. The day was oddly warm for leaf-fall, something that the black molly didn't mind. In fact, she quite enjoyed it. The longer it was before the river turned almost as cold as their leader's heart, the better. While she enjoyed the upcoming chilly weather, the warrior wasn't in favor of chilly water. No matter, she had to put up with it whether she liked it or not.
As she walked back to camp, Nightshade caught sight of the clan's medicine cat, Beewing, and his apprentice, Mistpaw. The two were pleasant enough, but Beewing was a bit odd and Mistpaw, to Nightshade at least, seemed a bit withdrawn. Perhaps it was the weight of being the medicine cat apprentice and having her mother looking at her with cold, unyielding eyes that spoke of nothing but snow and ice. How the little blue tabby put up with it, Nightshare couldn't have guessed.
RiverClan's leader was a good one. Icestar kept everyone in their best shape and made sure everyone was fed, personally training apprentices that didn't have mentors. While she was rigid and strict, she could be lenient in certain matters, alluding to a softness that the icy molly kept hidden most of the time. However, she seemed... empty, hollow even. Despite her noble nature and the elegant way she held herself, Icestar's stare always made Nightshade's skin prickle.
Padding up to the medicine cat and his apprentice, Nightshade peered at them with her eerie blue-violet eyes. She wasn't the best at talking to others, her nervous and anxious nature choking the words in her throat. "Would you like an escort?" she managed quietly, offering her accompaniment in hopes that it might provide some sense of protection. Nightshade was by no means a great warrior, but she wasn't the worst either.

well, even though beewing's assumptions were incorrect, mistpaw would appreciate his intentions if she knew them. "that sounds good! as the tom continued talking, her eyes widened ever so slightly, but not enough so that anyone would notice. so beewing has seen her. lovely. hopefully he would jump to any distasteful conclusions. "Um, of course! i just didn't manage to grab borage unfortunately..."
looming over at the wet molly, who she believed was named nightshade, her smile faded a bit. "oh, um of course!" nightshade didn't creep her out at all, she just really didn't like most warriors. warriors were too impudent and thought that they were invincible, until she had to fix the reminders that they weren't. "if anyone else wants to come, they can catch up, so let's go ahead and leave." she murmured with a flick of her tail.

Beewing smiled at Mistpaw's words. The young apprentice was, and Bee was trying not to sugar coat things here, shy. She presented the same vibe as her mother did, though Mistpaw's was more...how do you say, approachable. Not that Bee didn't mind Icestar's different vibe, he quite liked that in fact, it was just that Mistpaw didn't seem to mind his odd behavior. He appreciated that, and her way of including others despite her opinions of them. "Thank you for offering, Nightshade! It will be nice to have someone new to accompany us!" He mewed in response to the warrior. Beewing, personally, liked the warriors of his clan, or any clan for that matter. They were all doing what they believed was their purpose - which was to fight and defend. Beewing, honestly, didn't like fighting. He had no issue telling others he didn't, but he wasn't about to call a warrior hotheaded or blood-thirsty unless they really were. In short, the tom didn't mind warriors, just the idea of their fighting. "Tally ho, then!" The tom declared starting towards the entrance of the camp.
